Detailed by Design, Inc., is an independently owned interior design firm specializing in the healthcare market in North and South Carolina.
Founded in 2003 by Senior Designer Marta Reppe, the Detailed by Design mission is to create “healthy” environments for patients, visitors and healthcare providers alike. We create environments that promote efficiency, function, ergonomics and aesthetics for patient care, in both acute and non-acute healthcare settings. We create environments that support all aspects of healthcare for a positive and impactful experience.

The Detailed by Design team has been involved in over five million square feet of construction and renovation with the leading healthcare providers in the Carolinas.
We have been the lead designers for several of the large hospital systems in specialty projects that include Women’s Centers, Cancer Treatment centers, Pediatric specialties, Emergency Departments as well as dozens of Medical Office Buildings and professional support spaces. We have developed and maintained Interior Design standards that are implemented across several campuses and facilities.
As the market has fluctuated, we have remained a leader in the healthcare design industry. We have maintained a consistent team of designers since 2008, with a strong commitment to our clients. We have worked in all phases of healthcare design and planning; to include finishes, furniture and related specifications.

Marta Reppe
Marta Reppe is the President and lead Designer of Detailed by Design. With over 20 years of experience and a passion for design, she works with the leading healthcare providers in North and South Carolina; designing healing and impactful healthcare environments. She has assisted in shaping current trends and design solutions with manufacturing partners and is an industry leader in the Charlotte design community. She is honored to have such an amazing design team by her side and to have the opportunity to partner with clients in bringing their visions to life to better serve the community.
While focusing on the many rewards and challenges of being a designer and business owner, Marta is forever thankful to her husband and four beautiful children for supporting her crazy schedule and deadline-driven days; allowing her to realize her dreams each and every day!
Senior Designer
Carrie Ledford
Carrie Ledford joined Detailed by Design in 2008. She has over 17 years of design expertise in several aspects of the industry. Her experience includes time at a Knoll furniture dealership, sales and design for a manufacturer’s sales representative, as well as design for several architectural firms in the Carolinas. Her design portfolio showcases a variety of projects including commercial, education, and healthcare. However, it is her focus on healthcare that truly developed in her role as Senior Designer with Detailed by Design. She excels at space planning, problem solving and creating beautiful spaces, each uniquely tailored to the customer and their individual needs. Carrie’s focus with design is partnering with her customers to bring their vision to life. She understands the importance of fine details and how to use them to create impactful environments. She finds great joy in helping others and in creating beautiful, sensible, healing spaces.
In addition to collecting fabrics and high-end finishes for her design library, Carrie loves working out and managing the chaos of family life with her husband and two young children.
